Microsoft is reportedly preparing a massive revamp of Xbox Game Pass that would allow users to customize their subscription with “à la carte” options. According to a new Fortune profile on Xbox CEO Asha Sharma, this new tiered structure could eventually let players pick and choose specific features like cloud gaming, multiplayer access, and console-specific game libraries.

The shift is reportedly a response to internal concerns that the current Game Pass model has led to the “cannibalization” of sales for premium first-party titles during their critical launch windows. The proposed changes would aim to better balance subscription growth with retail software revenue.
