Anime fandom is officially reaching the living room as characters from hits like Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle and KPop: Demon Hunters surge to the top of the U.S. pet-naming charts. According to Rover’s 2026 data, movie and TV-inspired monikers are currently the third most popular trend, trailing only cottagecore and vintage revival.
Trending picks for dogs include Rumi, Lumi, and Telemachus, while feline owners are opting for names like Giyu, Shinobu, and Jinu. Other pop-culture standouts making the list include references from Star Wars: Andor, Wicked: For Good, and the Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc.
