Capcom is reworking the story for the upcoming Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake to ensure it aligns better with the wider franchise, including recent entries like Resident Evil 7, Village, and the modern remakes. Producer Yoshiaki Hirabayashi confirmed the goal is to create a more unified narrative experience for players.
While the remake will introduce structural changes to fit the current timeline, Hirabayashi promised that the development team is prioritizing fan memories of the 2000 original. The remake is currently scheduled for a 2027 release on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
