Halo: Campaign Evolved proves the original game’s combat design remains timeless, but this latest remake feels more like a technical test run for Unreal Engine 5 than a must-play experience. While the graphical overhaul and added prequel missions are welcome, they don’t offer enough to truly redefine a classic we’ve already revisited many times.
Available now on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5, the package is a decent enough nostalgia trip, though it lacks the depth of a full modern reimagining. With the Master Chief Collection already offering a comprehensive package, this standalone campaign release is ultimately a shiny but optional addition to the franchise.
