Tom Holland and director Destin Daniel Cretton revealed that the high-octane combat in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day was heavily inspired by the finishing moves from Insomniac’s Spider-Man games. Stunt teams reportedly scoured the games for inspiration, bringing screenshots of specific takedowns to the set to recreate them for the big screen.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrives in theaters on Friday, July 31, 2026. In celebration, Sony has added new character suits to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 inspired by the film and the upcoming Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls.
