Leaked images have revealed that several upcoming LEGO Pokémon sets will feature the company’s new “Smart Play” technology. This interactive system uses a specialized “Smart Brick” to trigger light and sound effects when paired with NFC-enabled Smart Tags included in the builds.
Expected to roll out this summer starting August 1, the leaked sets include Cubone and Gengar’s Spooky Showdown, Jigglypuff Concert, Charmander and Geodude’s Cavern Clash, and Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle. While not every set will contain a Smart Brick, fans will be able to reuse them across different playsets.
