Paramount+ has unveiled the first trailer and details for its upcoming animated series based on SEGA’s iconic 1989 arcade hit, Golden Axe. The show is set to premiere all ten episodes on September 16, 2026.
Co-created by Mike McMahan (Star Trek: Lower Decks) and showrunner Joe Chandler, the series follows legendary warriors Ax Battler, Tyris Flare, and Gilius Thunderhead as they team up with an inexperienced adventurer to stop the persistent villain Death Adder. The voice cast features Matthew Rhys as Gilius, Danny Pudi as newcomer Hampton Squib, and Lisa Gilroy as Tyris Flare.
