Dave Bautista has officially been tapped to star as Kratos in the upcoming live-action God of War series for Prime Video. He replaces actor Ryan Hurst, who was forced to step down from the role following a severe bicep injury sustained during stunt training.
Production on the series is expected to resume in mid-October 2026. This casting news follows the recent announcement of a new God of War game, Laufey, which is currently in development at Santa Monica Studios for a February 2027 release.
