Zach Cregger’s upcoming Resident Evil film is currently tracking to deliver the most profitable opening weekend in the franchise’s history. Forecasts from Box Office Pro suggest the horror movie could pull in between $40 million and $50 million.
This performance would comfortably surpass the previous record holder, Resident Evil: Afterlife, which earned $26.6 million in 2010. The film, which takes a new approach by focusing on original characters rather than a direct game adaptation, is scheduled to hit theaters on September 18, 2026.
