Following a successful box office launch and strong critical reception, Resident Evil director Zach Cregger and star Austin Abrams have addressed the initial fan skepticism surrounding the new survival-horror reboot.
Cregger explained that while the film diverges from existing adaptations, it is built on a “true place of love” for the games, specifically mirroring their iconic third-person, over-the-shoulder camera work and survival-horror pacing to capture the authentic feeling of playing the franchise.
