Eric Barone, the creator behind the mega-hit Stardew Valley, has revealed that his upcoming follow-up, Haunted Chocolatier, will lean much closer to the action RPG genre. Unlike his previous title, the gameplay focus shifts toward adventuring, looting better equipment, and engaging in challenging boss fights.
Barone describes the game as being tailored for the players who enjoyed the combat-heavy mining sections of Stardew Valley. While the game remains a “town game” at its core, Barone is taking his time to ensure every UI element and interaction is perfectly polished before launch, with no official release date currently set.
