Jesse Eisenberg has opened up about his decision to decline a return as Mark Zuckerberg for the upcoming sequel The Social Reckoning, admitting that rejecting writer-director Aaron Sorkin was an incredibly difficult choice.
Sorkin spent days trying to convince the Oscar-nominated actor to return, but Eisenberg ultimately passed, noting he is ready to move in different directions. The role of an older Zuckerberg will instead be played by Succession star Jeremy Strong, with the film slated for an October 9, 2026, premiere.
