Former employees of Build a Rocket Boy are set to protest outside the studio’s Edinburgh office this Saturday, July 11, following a series of mass layoffs. The protest, organized by the IWGB Game Workers Union, targets the studio’s decision to fly fans in for an all-expenses-paid playtest event while many of its former staff remain in conflict with the company over redundancies and workplace conditions.
The studio maintains that the community event is part of its ongoing commitment to its ‘Arcadia’ game creation system. This follows the troubled launch of MindsEye, which has struggled to retain a player base since its release, peaking at only 48 concurrent players on Steam recently.
