Nintendo is rolling out a revised Switch 2 model in Europe this fall, featuring user-replaceable batteries to comply with upcoming EU legislation. While the design remains functionally identical to the current console, the new hardware will be slightly heavier.
Starting this autumn, the Switch 2 console and included Joy-Cons will see a weight increase as part of these revisions, with individual controller replacements following in winter. Nintendo also confirmed that the original Switch will be phased out in the European market rather than receiving an updated version.
