Panic, the manufacturer of the crank-powered Playdate handheld, is proactively issuing tariff refunds to customers who were charged extra fees last year. Following a Supreme Court ruling ordering the government to return these payments, Panic is passing the savings directly back to original buyers.
Customers impacted by the tariffs will receive an automated email regarding the refund to their original payment method. While the amounts range around $25, the gesture stands in stark contrast to other companies like Nintendo, which have refused to issue similar refunds to consumers.
