A recent study on how people use ChatGPT to generate fiction has uncovered a bizarre outlier: a single user who repeatedly demands stories about pregnant characters from Doki Doki Literature Club. The researchers identified this individual as an “infinite story demander” who flooded the AI with endless variations of the same specific, fan-fiction-based narrative.
The study, titled AI Fiction in the Wild, analyzed half a million anonymous conversations and found that a tiny fraction of “super users” are responsible for the vast majority of AI-generated fiction prompts. While the Doki Doki fan is a particularly extreme case, researchers noted that repetitive, niche content—often fan fiction or erotica—makes up a surprisingly large portion of total AI usage.
