Seth Rogen has finally cleared up why Anne Hathaway exited the 2007 hit Knocked Up, a role that was ultimately filled by Katherine Heigl. According to Rogen, Hathaway stepped down because she did not want to film the movie’s explicit birthing scene.
Hathaway previously stated that she felt the graphic depiction of the birth was unnecessary to the plot. Rogen noted that while there were many potential reasons for her departure, the “crowning” scene was the primary issue he recalls, adding that he respects her decision.
